I'm still in awe of how this could happen. UPDATE: I know it's been a fat minute but after reading everyone else's problems after I posted my comment I figured I'd at least let you know how the story ended.
OH and I don't think it has to do with your gen of consoles either because I'm on PS4 pro and haven't even had it a year. My favorite Duty since The first MW and it worked fine until it didn't. This thread is the only thing I've found talking about this problem which gives me little hope it will be fixed. I don't even wanna play the game anymore. All my friends' work minus an occasional bug, but this freezing and having to restart game after every match is trash. How is it even possible that like only 5 of us in the whole modern warfare community are having this issue.
